Naresh Mathur (1954-2021)

For Buddhism altogether, and especially for Buddhism in India, losing Naresh is really a big loss!
Naresh himself had not only taken refuge in the Buddha, dharma and sangha but had also offered such great service to the Triple Gem. I have no doubt at all that he will continue to do so for the benefit of all beings.
For me personally, this is also such a big loss... I have lost a real friend and supporter.
I still remember Naresh in his surfer sun glasses at the Dzongsar Institute inauguration back in 2004. And I’ll so miss having dates with him over coffee at the Khan Market discussing Dr. Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi. Our last conversation was about Edward Bernays and the influence of media. We were going to meet again to take that discussion forward.
But alas, we could not! Such is the nature of impermanence.
My heartfelt prayers and condolences to Naresh’s family.
