Khyentse Norbu’s short black-and-white film “2118”, which showed at the prestigious 58th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, is a mysterious, contemplative allegory that takes the viewer, wordlessly, into the heart of one of the most profound truths of buddhist philosophy. The film features a mostly amateur cast of monks and tulkus (reincarnated past masters) and a mostly non-professional crew.
