While no sentiment surpasses the power of love, its beauty is often diminished by the narrow constraints of self-centeredness. Conversely, openness and selfless love, which provide enduring happiness and appreciation for the other, are natural qualities that can be intentionally cultivated. The Buddha’s teaching offers a proactive methodology for liberating our natural capacity for selfless warmth.
