Lhabab Duchen: Online Sutra Recitation to Honour the Words of the Buddha

Lhabab Duchen: online Sutra recitation to honour words of the Buddha
November 11, 2025 at 6pm Pacific time
SI Canada sangha warmly welcomes you to join us on Lhabab Duchen, Tuesday November 11th at 6:00pm Pacific time on a virtual gathering.
Lhabab Duchen is one of the four Buddhist festivals commemorating the life of the Buddha. It is the day that Sakyamuni Buddha descends from Heaven to teach in the realm of the Gods to liberate his mother who was reborn in the Heaven of Indra.
To celebrate 84000’s 15th anniversary of translating the Words of the Buddha, we will be reciting two new published Sutras: “The Questions of the Naga King Sagara” and “Wisdom at the Hour of Death”, together with “The King of Aspiration” on this auspicious day.
We will also share selected passages from 84000’s translated sutra collection as short contemplations for reflection and inspiration.
Sutras and prayers will be recited in both English and Chinese and the text will be posted on the screen. Quotations from Sutras will be in English only.
You can download a PDF in English or in Chinese. Click here to download.
All are welcome to join on this auspicious day to offer our prayers for the longevity of Buddha’s teaching and aspiring for the Dharma to prevail.
