???? Message from Rinpoche

There has been a habit, especially in recent times, for some people to show round photos of themselves posing with me as they try to exude an air of being a saviour, teacher, lama or Rinpoche. Some of them may even take on Abrahamic labels like His Holiness.

First of all, using these photos as a means to validate themselves is as absurd as using Americans, British or Europeans to validate human rights compliance. My validation would be meaningless, and I have no intention of validating anyone based on any photograph.

But secondly, if I do wish to support someone as a spiritual guide, I will only do so with very great care and consideration.

一直以來，某些人會有一種習性，就是四處展示他們與我的合影，嘗試顯示自己是某種救世主、導師、喇嘛或仁波切的氛圍，最近這種情形尤其多，有些人甚至帶著法王（His Holiness）之類的亞伯拉罕宗教式的標籤。

首先，將這些照片當作證明他們可靠性的手段是荒謬的，就如同用美國人、英國人或歐洲人來證明完全奉行人權保護一樣的荒謬。我的認可並無意義，我也無意通過任何照片來為任何人背書。其次，如果我真的希望支持某人作為一位精神導師，我僅會在審慎考慮後，以非常謹慎的方式去做。
