Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche founded the Siddhartha Intent Society in 1989. The Society is an international Buddhist organization comprised of non-profit centers, most of which are registered as organizations and charities in their respective countries. Its primary purpose is to preserve the Buddhist teachings and to promote awareness and understanding of them beyond the limitations of culture and tradition.
Born in Bhutan in 1961, Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche is recognized as the principal incarnation of the Khyentse lineage in Tibetan Buddhism and has studied with some of the greatest living masters, notably Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.
From a young age, he actively preserved Buddhist teachings, established centers of study, sponsored practitioners, published books, and traveled the world to teach. Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche oversees the traditional seat of Dzongsar Monastery and retreat center in Kham, as well as new academies in India and Bhutan. He also established centers in Australia, North America, and Asia, all affiliated with the Siddhartha Intent Society.
