What’s on offer?
The NZ Dzö Dün Catering Team is pleased to announce that tickets are now available to purchase for catered lunches that will be served throughout the duration of the event via pre-booking through Humanitix. 
The lunches will be made with a focus on quality, locally sourced, and seasonal ingredients. In order to cater to dietary requirements, all meals will be vegan and gluten free. Unfortunately we will not be able to cater to dietary requirements beyond this. These meals will be varied, delicious and prepared freshly each day. Our caterers, Flying Trestles, are highly regarded in New Zealand for providing delicious and nutritious meals for large events and for film production crews in remote places. We feel very lucky to have secured a contract with them, as there are not many catering companies near Wānaka.
Please understand that because of the location of the transmissions and number of participants, there are limited options to purchase ready-made lunches or refreshments near the venue. Our event, at its full capacity of 1200 participants, will cause some strain on the existing infrastructure of the small and remote alpine town of Wānaka. Food supplies for an event this size need to be arranged well in advance, delivered, and all catering infrastructure provided, to be able to cook and serve lunch. We have therefore arranged this catered lunch option so attendees can easily stay onsite for the duration of the event. It is essential that you pre-book this before the 20th of October 2023.
Catered lunch cost
There are a limited number of catering tickets and you can only book lunch for the full 9 days, rather than individual days (lunch will not be available on the final day, the 13th of November, as the event will finish by late morning). The cost for having a delicious meal made on-site each day during the event is NZD $299. With the above factors in mind, we have opted to keep things as simple as possible, therefore there are no single day lunch tickets for sale.
We encourage you to book your catering ticket as soon as possible. The aforementioned tickets are limited.
Sponsorship opportunity to provide lunch for ordained sangha
We have 37 ordained sangha that have registered for the event. In appreciation of their dedication to the path and in keeping with tradition, any donation to cover their lunch ticket is welcome.
Dining 
There will be a large dining marquee outside the venue, and there is also plenty of uncovered space. In case of inclement weather, you can also eat inside the hall.
Our zero waste journey
In line with our zero waste policy it is a joy to work with local social enterprises Wastebusters and DISHrupt that provide excellent solutions towards a zero waste society. With that aim in mind lunches will be served on plates with cutlery that will be washed with commercial dishwashers daily. The leftovers will be composted.
Refreshments
Cold drinking water will be available, but you need to bring your own water bottle. It is suggested to bring your own thermos of your choice of hot beverage to avoid queuing for hot drinks that will be available to purchase from external vendors during the event. Wānaka has a strong community backed campaign to become the first single-use cup free town in Aotearoa. Be a part of it by bringing your own reusable cup for hot drinks or they will be available to purchase from the coffee cart vendors.
Cancellation policy
Siddhartha’s Intent NZ has entered into a contract with a catering company, which involves strict cancellation Terms and Conditions. In buying this ticket you acknowledge and accept that a refund may not be possible, even if the event is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. If an individual participant cancels, we will endeavor to provide a refund to the extent that SINZ incurs no costs as a result. If the event is canceled, we will refund any money paid that is not required to be passed on to the caterer or other providers.
