Teaching on The Gold Sutra, including a worldwide resounding on the sutra.
Samantabhadra’s King of Aspiration Prayers is a classic Mahayana Buddhist text originating from the final chapter of the Avatamsaka or Flower Ornament Sutra.
Human beings often aspire or pray for longevity and prosperity. Such conventional prayers are subjective and limited: a long life or wealth may not benefit us. The Maha of Mahayana means grand, and the aspiration to be free from ignorance reflects this vast and limitless view.
This is the only aspiration that is both truly beneficial and possible. Ignorance is not our true nature and aspiring to be free from defilements is entirely achievable.
With Chinese consecutive interpretation.
