About: Foundations Series One is an excellent starting point for anyone interested in exploring Buddhism.
Participants will be sent a workbook PDF. This is an integral part of the course providing a systematic and comprehensive approach to exploring Buddhist practices and principles in a step-by-step manner. An invitation to a private Facebook discussion group will be included.
The course will introduce practical methods and practices to help one become more mindful of thoughts and emotions. The application of these techniques facilitates the recognition and cultivation of happiness in daily life.
The workbook will utilise books, articles, and videos to explore, investigate and examine the foundational teachings in Buddhism.
Some of the materials include the Video ‘It Depends’ and the article ‘Buddhism in a Nutshell’ by Dzongsar Jamyang Khyenste Rinpoche. Books include ‘The Truth of Suffering and the Path of Liberation‘ by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and ‘The Tree of Enlightenment’ by Peter Della Santina.
The course will be conducted every two weeks, giving participants ample time to work through the program’s workbook and bring their insights and queries to the next class. This provides a structured approach to exploring Buddhist practices and principles that participants can utilise to deepen their understanding and learning.
