Winter Solstice lamp offering prayers (SI Europe and India)
The Winter Solstice falls this year in the Northern Hemisphere on
Sunday, 21 December, at exactly 3.03 pm UTC – 4.03 pm Central Europe Time.
The Winter Solstice marks both the shortest day and the longest night. Symbolically, it represents the rebirth of light, the return of the Sun, the triumph of light over darkness.
Join us in lighting lamps on this darkest day of the year!
Maya will light 108 lamps, Deepa will sing in sanskrit the King of Aspiration Prayers by the bodhisattva Samantabhadra. You are welcome to prepare lamps – in any quantity – to light them in your home.
