Chimé Phakmé Nyingtik Drupchö (group practice intensive) (English)

Led by Chris Jay, Sydney Jay, and Florence Koh

Location: Sea to Sky Retreat Centre (SSRC), Whistler, BC, Canada

Time: August 16–24, 2025

SSRC will be hosting an in-person Drupchö (group practice intensive) of the profound Chimé Phakmé NyingtikThe Heart Essence of Deathless Ārya Tāra. This sacred practice will be led by Chris Jay, Sydney Jay, and Florence Koh.

Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche strongly encourages us to engage in intensive group practice. Practicing together in this way greatly increases merit and removes obstacles—for ourselves, the Sangha, and the Teacher’s enlightened activity.

The Chimé Phakmé Nyingtik is a deeply blessed practice of White Tāra, uniting the Vajrayāna deity yoga traditions of three great Indian vidyādharas: Shrī Siṃha, Vimalamitra, and Guru Padmasambhava. To truly practice the Dharma, we need long life—and ultimately, realization of our undying nature, the true essence of White Tāra. This practice helps create the conditions for both.

During the Drupchö:

– We will review teachings on Chimé Phakmé Nyingtik bestowed by Rinpoche.

– Participants will have the opportunity to engage in ritual roles, including Umdze (chant leader) and Chöpon (shrine master).

– Instruction in torma-making will be offered.

– Evening mudrā classes will also be available.

Come and join us for this auspicious festival of practice!

On-Site Accessibility:

Please note, there are limits to the Retreat Centre’s infrastructure: there are no fully accessible washrooms, and the terrain includes uneven rock and dirt pathways, hills, and stairs. The location is unsuited to a standard wheelchair. Please let us know if you think these limits to accessibility will impact you, or if you have accessibility needs related to standing, walking or climbing stairs so that we can work together to assess and strategize.

Special Dietary Needs:

There will be an opportunity to specify any special needs including medically acute food allergies. We may not be able to meet everyone’s preferences. We encourage you to please reflect on the difference between needs and preferences for your stay as you make your request, as this allows us to more easily accommodate all retreatants.
