Chökhor Düchen – Celebrate the Words of the Buddha (SI Canada + SIWD)
Please join Siddhartha’s Intent Canada and Western Door sangha on Chökhor Düchen, Tuesday, July 9th at 6:30 pm Pacific Standard Time for a virtual gathering celebrating the words of the Buddha.
Chökhor Düchen is an auspicious day commemorating the anniversary of Shakyamuni Buddha who ‘turned the wheel of Dharma’ the first time teaching the ‘Four Noble Truths’ in Sarnath, India. On this day, the effects of positive and negative activities will multiply ten million times!
We warmly welcome you to join us virtually to celebrate this auspicious day by reciting Sutras and Aspiration prayers to remember the kindness of the Buddha and all lineage masters who turn the wheel of Dharma for the benefit of all beings.
In addition, we’ll be reading a collection of inspiring quotations from the Sutras that were translated by 84000 in order for us to reflect and contemplate the wisdom of the Buddha.
All are welcome to join.
The Sutra and Aspiration prayers will be recited in both English and Chinese. The quotations from Sutras are in English only.
Sutras, prayers and quotations will be displayed on screen, but you are also welcome to download the texts in advance in English and Chinese.
We’ll dedicate this session of practices for the longevity of all lineage Gurus and for the Dharma to prevail. May all be auspicious!
