News from Chanteloube:
It is with great joy and appreciation that we would like to share the wonderful news that Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche has kindly agreed to come to France to lead a drupchen of Khandro Sangdü.
This Vajravarahi practice is one of the most beautiful and elaborate of the dakini practices. It is known for its power to restore the degeneration of the elements – earth, water, air and others – and to alleviate the ravages caused by disease, famine and war.
The original teachings and practices were passed on by Guru Rinpoche to Yeshe Tsogyal, who practised them and then hid them as a terma (spiritual treasure) for future generations.
An incarnation of Yeshe Tsogyal, Jomo Menmo Tsokye (1248-1283), revealed the Khandro Sangdü as an earth terma. Later, she hid the texts again in the form of a terma, which was rediscovered by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo as a yangter (rediscovered treasure). The sadhana was subsequently widely disseminated by Jamgön Kongtrul Lodrö Thaye and other great teachers.
The lamas and monks will perform the various stages of the ritual with chanting and sacred music. Everyone can take part by joining in the recitation of the mantra, which will continue day and night, or by helping with the various daily tasks necessary for this type of elaborate practice.
The Drupchen will take place at the Base – Centre Omnisports, 47110 Le Temple-sur-Lot and will be organized by the Association Cultuelle Guiana Kara*.
Registration from 23 October onwards at: https://www.songtsen.org/chanteloube/programs-events/
