Riwo Sangchö is praised as the easiest and most effective way of removing obstacles and offering love and nourishment to all beings while also creating and sharing merit for personal and world peace.

The smoke offering ritual Riwo Sangchö was revealed and popularized by Lhatsun Namkha Jigme (1597-1653), a rebirth of the Indian pandita Vimalavitra, and the great master Longchenpa. In the 19th century, he was known as Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo.
