Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche
Teaching on The Gold Sutra, including a worldwide resounding on the sutra.
According to the Chinese Mahayana tradition, Sunday 8 May 2022 was Buddha’s birthday, and also Mother’s Day in some countries. With the aspiration of benefiting all mother sentient beings, the Kumarajiva Project, a Khyentse Foundation Initiative, invited Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche to talk about the sutra Cultivating Trust in the Great Vehicle.
As long as we have consciousness and interact with the world around us, we act out of “trust” or “belief”. We have a notion of an objective reality but the way we see the world is highly subjective: even science is a belief. This Mahayana sutra provides a thorough explanation and detailed analysis of the meaning, development and characteristics of the “trust” which we, aspiring bodhisattvas, need to develop.
The sutra has been translated into English by 84000 and is now also available in Chinese at www.ymfz.org.
Recording also available on Spotify.
