Rika Ito

VP/Communications (Canada)

Rika has been a student of Rinpoche's since 2000 and presently serves as Program Coordinator for the Vancouver sangha and Vice President of SI Canada.

She was born in Japan but grew up in Australia and various cities in the United States. She landed in Canada in the early 1990s after finishing her graduate degree. Rika has recently retired after 30+ years as a literacy worker and community arts programmer in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver.

Along with her volunteer work for Siddhartha’s Intent, she serves on various arts-related boards and enjoys hiking, listening to live jazz, and supporting community-engaged arts.
