SI has been established in Canada as a registered charity since 1993. The mission of SI Canada is to promote the understanding and practice of Buddhism in Canada, particularly the Tibetan Buddhist teachings of the Khyentse lineage. This mission is achieved by maintaining retreat centres and city practice centres for groups and individuals with interest in the dharma, making teachings easily accessible, and supporting opportunities for individuals to participate in study, practice, and work programs.
