Lhabab Düchen: Sutra Recitation and Auspicious Prayers for Peace and Harmony
Please join Siddhartha’s Intent Canada and Western Door sangha on Lhabab Düchen, Friday, November 22nd at 6:30 pm Pacific Time for a virtual gathering.
Lhabab Duchen is one of the four Buddhist festivals commemorating the life of the Buddha. It is the day that Sakyamuni Buddha descended from Heaven to teach in the realm of the Gods to liberate his mother who was reborn in the Heaven of Indra.
On this ‘wheel day’ the effects of positive or negative actions are multiplied ten million times. We warmly welcome you to join us on this auspicious day to recite a couple of Sutras and aspiration prayers to remember Sakyamuni Buddha and his teachings.
To remind us of the immense contribution of 84000 for translating the complete collections of the Buddha’s words into modern languages, we will also recite selected quotations from Sutras that 84000 translated as short contemplations.
Sutras and prayers will be recited in both English and Chinese and the text will be posted on the screen. Quotations from Sutras will be in English only.
You can download a PDF of the liturgy in English or in Chinese. Click here to download.
All are welcome to join.
