Vimaladrup Tsokbum
We are delighted to announce that SSRC will be hosting a Vima Ladrup* Tsokbum this summer. Drubgyud Tenzin Rinpoche will preside as Vajra Master, which is a great blessing for us all. Our experienced chant leaders and shrine masters will lead the practice. Dates are Aug 19- 26 inclusive (17-19 Aug for early arrivees interested in helping with and learning about shrine prep and torma-making).
The Secret Mantra Vajrayāna features countless skillful and powerful methods which, if they are practised in the proper way, can make the process of accumulation and purification incredibly swift and direct. One such method is the practice of the feast gathering, which is primarily a practice of purifying our samaya through offering. It is often said that the best method for purifying samaya is the fire offering, and tsok practice is the ‘inner fire offering’. The Tibetan word “tsok” which means “gathering” refers to four different types of gatherings: the practitioners, the offering substances, the deities, and merit and wisdom. Blessed with the incredible kindness of Drubgyud Tenzin Rinpoche’s presence, in this pūja we can be certain that the accumulations of merit and wisdom will be swiftly gathered, while simultaneously purifying our obscurations.
Dates:
- Aug 17-18 torma making and shrine preparation (early arrivals who are interested in learning about shrine setup may join the preparations)
- Aug 19-27 ( arrival day + 7 practice days at 8hrs/day + departure day)
If you cannot attend in person, we welcome you to still participate by sending offerings for tsok.
