Madeleine Tréhin or « Detchendronma » (Lamp of Bliss) is a French painter and artist who was born in 1954 on the French Riviera in Cagnes-sur-Mer and now resides close to Monchique, Portugal. Madeleine uses colored pencils and oils for her artwork. She draws inspiration for her art from her meditation practice. Her paintings are explorations of deities and colorful abstract forms inspired by receiving the Dharma from her teachers and putting it into practice. She is a student of the Khyentse lineage of Tibetan Buddhism and has spent more than twelve years of her life in retreats.
