Are the emotions of anger and desire really a problem? And what does it actually mean to be free of them? In this teaching, Rinpoche discusses three ways of handling these emotions: abandon, transform and know. Anger and desire are types of ignorance and to abandon them, we have to disentangle ourselves through hearing, contemplation and meditation. As our practice matures, we realise that anger and desire are compounded phenomena and can be worked with and transformed. Finally, we free ourselves from anger and desire simply by knowing them.
