Stupas are buddhist symbols and building stupas, or visiting them, is a form of buddhist practice, just like meditation or chanting mantras. Just one glimpse of a stupa can plant a karmic seed. In worldly terms, a stupa is a useless object, but on a subliminal level it can be very powerful. In this teaching, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche introduces a range of practical meditation techniques to build the “inner stupa” inside ourselves, so that we can become “moving stupas,” benefiting all beings who interact with us. We should treasure and make use of these techniques but remember the ultimate goal of meditation: to find the truth.
