Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche
Five short meditations to become aware and awake.
As long as we have hope and fear we have at least the food for violence. A way to counter this is contemplation. Looking inside rather than outside is a good thing to do if we want to be non-violent individually and also in society. If that self-contemplation can be introduced individually into our lives, if that can be a part of our family activity, educating our children, and if this self-contemplation can be introduced to schools, police forces, hospitals, politicians, if people have even a little bit of curiosity aroused, this can really make some difference in making ourselves non-violent.
