Bodhgaya
Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche
Looking to make your practice simple and effective? Start with these six magical words: “I want to be like you.”
Meditation has become fashionable as a way to de-stress and calm the mind but being relaxed and peaceful is not the ultimate goal of the Buddhadharma. Our lives are full of anxiety, loneliness and alienation, and we view all our problems from a very narrow perspective. Understanding the three fundamental buddhist truths of anicca, dukkha and anatta can help us view our lives from a wider perspective and dhyāna or meditation is a method to help us see and maintain these three truths. Rinpoche ends the teaching with some practical advice about meditation.
